An incredible birth!

I still can't believe I was able to have the birth I wanted and an absolutely incredible experience. I am so grateful to you for your knowledge and experience. I remembered our lessons from our Private Couple Sessions on the day and had an incredible birthing experience with no trauma, something I didn't think was possible. I can't thank you enough for what you have enabled me to do.

I'm stronger after birth

Your workshop filled us with knowledge and confidence, and with our very supportive midwife we felt empowered to make decisions along the way. We both feel like we gave it all our best shot and did what we needed to when it was needed. A really positive experience over all. Despite, and I think even because of, the intensity of the contractions due to the Synto, I feel powerful, like I could do just about anything now! So thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom with the world!

My amazing birth

Things moved really quickly after the induction at 7pm and by 10pm my contractions had well and truly started. Our beautiful son, Frederick (Freddie) arrived at 2:50am without the need for my waters to be broken or an Oxytocin injection and by the time I thought the pain might be too much it was too late for an epidural. Everything happened quickly but naturally (other than the induction to kick things off). I'm so grateful and wouldn't have wanted it to go any other way.

Lean on your supporters

I remembered something Suzanne said in active birth yoga class ‘lean on your supports’ and I think this big group of supporters was exactly what I needed for this birth.

I feel like this confidence definitely came from my yoga classes and listening to Suzanne’s yoga meditations during pregnancy. My midwife and the midwifery student stayed after their shift finished to be there for the birth of my baby Julie, so she arrived in a room full of people smiling and excited to see her (like her own personal cheer squad!)

Your medical mind

I am reading the book ‘Your medical mind, how to decide what is right for you’ by Groopman,MD & Hartzband, MD. They say that patients should be aware that doctors and other experts may frame information in a way that reflects their own preferences. What is recommended is that information should be presented in a neutral way and doctors work to understand their patient’s own thinking.

Naomi & Matt's third yogababy!

We wanted to share with you the birth of our third little love, our son Rumi Leo. He was born over 42 weeks in a birth that almost mirrored River’s birth a year prior. It was amazing having all the knowledge we had learnt from our private session with you and watching it play out in almost an out of body experience, watching the birthing process take over. Thank you so much again, we are so grateful to you. So true, experiencing surrender first hand is transformative and powerful. He is such an angel, adored by all 4 of us (hard to believe we are now 5 in total!)

Successful VBAC

So glad I did the active birth classes! Whilst I knew the theory, actually doing the practice was more beneficial than I realised... And so good to connect with myself and the baby (& give myself the time to enjoy the journey!). I was focusing on my breath and using rhythmic motions with my hands to keep my mind in the moment... and amazingly my daughter has been doing lots of rhythmic hand movements since being born. It’s like we really were dancing together as she was being born. So special!
